 Tackboard of Simpsons |
My Simpsons on Display I should start off by introducing myself. My name is Adam Goldfine and I am obsessed with the Simpsons. I started watching the show from the first episode, back when I was 13 years old (11 if you count the start of the Simpsons on the Tracy Ullman Show) and have been watching ever since. I started taping the show from the second season and now have all of the episodes on tape. I am definitely a Simpsons geek, I have seen all of the episodes at least 3 times each (some many more). In addition, I now have hundreds of Simpsons items and sadly (for my wallet) there are thousands more to buy. At least with that many items left I will never have to worry about completing the collection and not knowing what to do with myself.

I remember starting formally collecting Simpsons merchandise when I was at this store called Amazing Savings which sold toys, games, books, and pretty much anything the other stores could no long sell and I picked up the Simpsons Burger King doll set for a great deal. That was around 1993. From there I started checking the newsgroups for people willing to sell their Simpsons merchandise to me and I got some great deals. One of the deals was all of the Mattel action figures for under $10 a piece. This was before Ebay and Simpsons merchandise was still affordable and definitely not considered a serious collectable. As time went by and my collection grew I discovered more Simpsons collectors out there and now there are hundreds of us. There are many

The top image is my Simpsons tackboard, sorry about the lousy scan. I actually don't have these items up on the tackboard anymore, most are in boxes in my closet so this photo is all I have of this display. The other images on this page are various shelves around my bedroom. I love to display Simpsons items but many items don't lend themselves to being displayed very easily so I have closets full of Simpsons

merchandise. Some of my favorite items on display are the Bart Simpson joystick from Germany, the Mattel action figure set, and the promotional mugs from FOX affiliates. Other items I cherish are my Simpsons autographs including the late Phil Hartman and Danny DeVito signing an Uncle Herb card, my Simpsons trading cards, and, as I said before, the Burger King Doll set.
